ABOUT THE UNIVERSITY
Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Kosice (hereinafter referred to as UPISH) Belongs to the outstanding and well-known educational and scientific institutions not only in the Slovak Republic, but also in the developed Europe.
The main mission of the university is to provide educational services at three levels of higher education based on the latest scientific achievements in a wide international context, in accordance with European trends in this field, the Bologna Declaration and other documents. UPISH in Kosice has the status of a research university, on the basis of which scientific research of international importance is carried out, are competitive in the Slovak and foreign research environment. The university is involved in the European research environment through the implementation of international research projects, the implementation of bilateral and intergovernmental agreements. For example, cooperation with the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna (Russia) and with the Swiss CERN Center in Geneva.
Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Kosice participates in the construction of the University Science Parks and research centers, such as: MEDIPARK - Medical University Science Park in Kosice, PROMATECH - Research Center for Advanced Materials and Technologies, as well as TECHNICOM (Technical University in Kosice is a partner) . The University has three teams of high-level scientists - Quantum magnetism and nanophysics “QMAGNA” at the Faculty of Natural Sciences, Team for the Study of Bioactive Substances for Biomedical Applications (Bioaktiv) at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Highly Qualified Team for the Study of Atherosclerosis (EXTASY) at UPYS Medical Faculty in Kosice.
